Reflected Moments I (2001)

Reflected Moments I is an audiovisual installation which exists of a projection of a bathing woman and a basin filled with water that reflects her posture. Her movements on the screen cause (real) water to splash out of the screen. These actions distort the reflection in the water temporary.

"In my works I create a virtual personality who dictates the atmosphere in the
space. An atmosphere is not anything concrete on it's own but needs
observers to feel it, and as a result to generate interaction. For this an
environment is not static but changes in time together with its public.
The space constraints the participant and the strong presents of the
projected image put the visitor in a state of expectation, and thus help to
create a complete (and intense) personal environment experience.
I see the medium of an audiovisual installation as the most convincing way to create a space where a field of tension between intimacy and distance exists."
